The Essential Drucker
For me, Drucker is a management philosopher. There is no skin-deep topic. He touched the very core of business. So, don’t be surprised if he had talked about information worker, innovation, corporate social responsibility since long.. long time ago.
Reading his books is like reading bible (well… may be.. since I don’t read the bible hehehe).
It will help you to find the truth about business, profit, manager, leader, entrepreneurship, change, innovation.
One example… he said… “The purpose of business is to create customers.”
This ‘dogma’ has a very deep meaning. It provides foundation layer for the concept of innovation, customer loyalty, etc.
So.. it’s evergreen. After several years (with some experience gained), try to read it again. You will find deeper meaning about what he wrote.
Final Say : Read it if you really want to find the truth… (like the Matrix)… “You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
But if you want quick-short-cut, and just want to be a typical giant corporation successful manager, read books that tell you that success can be achieved within … 100 ways, 1 minute, 7 steps. Or even some pathetic books that guarantee that you will be promoted and get raise. Just kidding (it’s a choice).
