Multiply only allows you to give five stars, so the only way to give TEN stars is to give 5 stars again to this same item : Beatles Anthology.
Just finishing the series. It is really good!
It’s the Beatles in their own words.
The fab four and some close people like George Martin spoke about many important events of the group.
After watching this series, I am more convinced that Beatles is probably the greatest people in music industry ever.
They did not only change the course of music, but also redefined the music industry itself.
Do you know that it was Beatles who first recorded their performance and display it on live TV program, simply because they couldn’t be at multiple places at once? “In a way, we create MTV”, Ringo said.
Do you know that Beatles had idea to perform the first ‘reality show’ when they wanted to do live recording the on the making of Let-It-Be album?
So many things they tried without any reference from any musician before.
For the fans, there are some sentimental moments.
About the songs and event. Like George Martin tries not to cry when commenting on the first take of John’s “A Day in Life”, with strange opening words : “Sugar Plum Fairy”.
The movie is ended with a touching video clip of “Free as a Bird” which portrayed Beatles important places and events.
Verdict : Anyone who never heard Beatles songs… try to hear them. Or… maybe watching the upcoming “Across the Universe” movie will be a good introduction.
